ALANON

It's  often  said  that  things  never  occur  in  a  vacuum.  That's  certainly  the  case  with  issues  of  addiction.  Friends  and  family  members  of  alcoholics  often  suffer  as  much  as,  or  more  than  the  alcoholic.
Alanon  is  designed  to  meet  the  special  needs  of  anyone  dealing  with  a  loved  one's  alcohol  problem.  Based  on  the  successful  12-step  program  pioneered  by  Alcoholics  Anonymous.  Anyone interested in starting a regular Alanon meeting at the center should contact kdecker@project100.org

AL-ANON  is a worldwide organization that offers a program of help and mutual support for families and friends of someone with a drinking problem whether or not the person with a drinking problem seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a drinking problem. Participants in AL-ANON  give and receive comfort and understanding through a mutual exchange of experience, strength and hope, and learn how the principles of the AL-ANON program can be applied to their own lives. This process of sharing amongst people with similar problems and applying AL-ANON principles binds individuals and groups together in a bond that is protected by a policy of anonymity and confidentiality.

WHO MAY ATTEND AL-ANON MEETINGS?

Anyone who has been affected by someone else's drinking in the past or present is welcome at any AL-ANON meeting.
