Youth
Activities

While  all  Center-sponsored  events  are  open  to  GLBTI  and  allied  youth  (often  for  reduced  admission),  Project  100  is  committed  to  offering  programs  and  activities  geared  towards  the  specific  needs  and  interests  of  our  youngest  constituents.

Input  from  the  youths  themselves  is  always  solicited,  in  the  belief  that  they  know  best  what  works  for  them.  This  philosophy  also  helps  them  develop  leadership  skills,  self-reliance  and  the  confidence  needed  chart  their  own  destiny.

The  Center  offers  monthly,  themed  youth  dances  from  October  to  April,  with  a  $2  admission,  proceeds  benefiting  the  Robert  George  Calvert  Memorial  Scholarship  Fund.  Our  main  hall  is  host  to  practices  for  Connecticut's  only  LGBTQI  Youth  Step  Team.

Project  100  also  co-sponsors  a  first-of-its-kind  mentoring  program with  True  Colors.  This  initiative,  designed  along  the  lines  of  the  Big  Brothers/Big  Sisters  model,  pairs  sexual  and  gender  minority  youth  with  appropriate  role  models  sharing  similar  racial,  ethnic,  gender  and  orientation  characteristics
