Out In The Park At Six Flags New England
has become the Premier Gay Day in New England with between 5,000 to 7,000 people attending the 2004 event!
Out In The Park began with over 1000 GLBT attendees the first year in 1997!
In 2003, our 7th year, we counted between 2500 and 3000,
or more, we expect over 10,000 in 2005!
We hope to see you there this year!
In years past, people have asked us about also doing a "Gay Day" at Funtown/Splashtown USA.
In 2004, we were contacted by the people that had been planning such an event just for thier friends.
They had about 30 or so of their friends show-up the year before.
They They basically wanted some help with getting the word out about this
Gay Day event that they have been holding at
Funtown/Splashtown since 2002.
How could we say no? And how could we not open this event up to everyone in the GLBTQIS community?
After all, Funtown/Splashtown USA is the biggest amusement park in Maine!
NOTE: In 2004, this event was called Pride In The Park At Funtown/Splashtown USA. But for 2005 on,
in keeping with our "Get OUT!" Theme for all the other Gay Days In New England, we have changed the name of this event to Out At The Park At Funtown/Splashtown USA.
It was an interesting coincidence that they contacted us, because we had already
contacted Southern Maine Pride about assisting them with planning and promoting a whole
weekend of Gay Day Fun in Northern New England.
So, in 2004, we began what we hope will be another great, fun, all-ages, social event
for the GLBTQIS community in Maine and New Hampshire.
Join us for the second annual
Out At The Lake At Canobie Lake Park
in Salem, NH on Saturday, August 20th.
Previously known as Pride On The Lake At Canobie Lake Park
Then on Sunday, August 21st, join us for the 4th annual
Out At The Park At Funtown / Splashtown USA
in Saco, Maine.
